Seahawks
Last Week
The Seahawks hosted the Cossacks of Sioux Valley in a Big East Conference game and rolled to a 41-8 victory.
Jonah Hofer scored his first of four TDs on the night to start the scoring in the first quarter with a 3 yard TD run. Brady Hawkins scored on a 7 yard run later in the first to give BEE a 13-0 lead after one. Hofer found pay-dirt from 5 yards out in in the second quarter to give the Seahawks a 20-0 heading into the half. BEE continued rolling in the third quarter; Grant Andrews scored on a 4 yard run, Hofer intercepted a Sioux Valley pass and returned it 87 yards and also scored on a 3 yard run to take a 41-0 lead into the fourth quarter. The Cossacks varsity added a late score on the Seahawk JV on a 13 yard TD pass from Parker Puetz to Jaxton Shiller to make the final score 41-8.
Hawkins completed 1-of-3 passes for 14 yards and rushed for 175 yards on 16 carries. Koby Kayser rushed for 49 yards on 6 carries, Grant Andrews had 10 carries for 42 yards, and Jonah Hofer rushed for 41 yards on 14 carries.
Defensively, Hawkins led the way with 8 tackles. Josh Bartscher also had 8 tackles and a fumble recovery. Bodie Burnham tallied 6 tackles, 2 interceptions and a pass deflection. Rylee Schultz added 6 tackles, and Colby Weber had 5 tackles, 1 sack, and a tackles for loss.
BEE had 324 total yards of offense (14 passing, 310 rushing) and held Sioux Valley to 188 yards of offense (165 passing, 23 rushing).
This Season
Through three games, BEE has outscored it's opponents 138-15. The Seahawks have 1,012 yards of total offense, 897 rushing & 115 passing. The defense has allowed 358 yards of total offense, 157 rushing & 201 passing. The Seahawks have been stellar on third down on both sides of the ball; converting 19-of-24 offensively (79.2%), while opposing teams are just 4-of-27 (14.8%).
Brady Hawkins leads the way offensively. Hawkins has thrown for 115 yards and a TD, while rushing for 367 yards and 4 TDs. Jonah Hofer has rushed for 176 yards and 5 TDs and has 58 receiving yards and a TD. Koby Kayser has rushed for 164 yards and a TD. Grant Andrews has 121 yards and 4 TDs.
Defensively, Hawkins leads the way with 27 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, an interception and a forced fumble. Grant Andrews is next with 19 tackles and 3 tackles for loss. Last Week
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, #3 in 11B, rode Jesse Hastings to a 16-0 win over Wagner.
Hastings rushed for 199 yards and 2 TDs on 29 attempts.
MVP had 332 yards of total offense and held Wagner to 134 yards of offense.
This Season
MVP comes into this game with a record of 2-0. The Titans opened up the season with a 20-14 win over Elk Point-Jefferson. That game was followed by their bye week, before beating Wagner last week 16-0.
Hastings has rushed for 294 yards and 4 TDs through two games this season.
Last Match-Up
The Seahawks battled the Titans in the 11B semi-finals in 2018 with a trip to the dome on the line. BEE dominated the game from the start and clinched back-to-back trips to the 11B title game with a 41-6 win.
Jamin Arend started the scoring with a 1 yard run in the 1st quarter, followed by a Brady Hawkins 1 yard TD run to give the home team a 14-0 lead after one quarter. Hawkins connected with Sawyer Schultz on a 15 yard TD pass to take a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. Hawkins scored on a 34 yard TD run and connected with Schultz again, this time from 20 yards out to take a 35-0 lead into the half. Arend added a 4 yard TD run in the third. MVP's Weston Tobin added a late TD on a 56 yard run in the 4th.
Arend led the way for BEE, rushing for 94 yards and 2 TDs. Hawkins rushed for 90 yards and 2 TDs and completed 9-of-13 passes for 165 yards and 2 TDs. Jonah Hofer had 4 receptions for 101 yards, Schultz had 3 receptions for 44 yards and 2 TDs.
The Seahawk defense held MVP's Jesse Hastings to only 20 yards on 11 carries, 14 of which came on one play. Carter Dye led the way for BEE's defense with 11 tackles, 1 sack and 4 fumble recoveries. Hawkins added 11 tackles. Schultz notched 5 tackles and 2 interceptions.
BEE accumulated 359 yards of offense, 194 rushing & 165 passing. MVP totaled 146 yards of offense, all of which were rushing yards.
