Jaxx Kurtenbach opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run, but Baltic answered with two touchdown passes from Henry Anderson to take a 14–6 halftime lead. Kurtenbach broke loose for a 65-yard scoring run in the third quarter, bringing BEE within 14–12 before the Bulldogs scored three consecutive touchdowns to build a 34–12 advantage.
The Seahawks fought back in the fourth. Brady Jager found Sutton Williams for a three-yard touchdown and Jackson Weber for the two-point conversion. Baltic responded with Brechen Frederick’s 80-yard touchdown run, stretching its lead to 40–20. BEE kept coming, adding a one-yard Jager touchdown run and a nine-yard scoring pass from Jager to Creighton Klumb. Successful two-point runs by Carter Glanzer and Jager cut the deficit to four, but the Seahawks couldn’t complete the comeback.
Kurtenbach led BEE with 99 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries, adding two receptions for 52 yards. This Season
Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan enters its regular-season finale with a 1–6 record, highlighted by a 22–14 victory over Sioux Falls Lutheran. The Seahawks have averaged 214.9 yards of offense and 16 points per game, with their ground attack producing 997 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Carter Glanzer leads BEE with 446 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns and 627 all-purpose yards. Brady Jager has added 220 yards and five touchdowns on the ground while passing for 450 yards and three scores. Jaxx Kurtenbach has contributed 105 rushing yards and two touchdowns in three appearances. BEE has collected eight sacks and six takeaways, including three interceptions and three fumble recoveries.
Protecting the football and putting together four consistent quarters remain priorities. BEE has committed 14 turnovers and allowed 36.6 points per game, but its 24-point fourth quarter against Baltic showed its ability to keep fighting and finish drives. The Seahawks will look to carry that offensive momentum into the finale against Hanson.
Hanson
Last Week
Hanson struggled to sustain drives against Class 9AA No. 1 Parkston, falling 50–0 Friday in Alexandria. The Trojans built a 36–0 halftime lead and improved to 7–0.
Parkston finished with 359 yards of total offense, including 258 rushing and 101 passing. Hanson managed 124 yards—85 on the ground and 39 through the air—and committed three turnovers. The Trojans held a 17–6 advantage in first downs.

Jett Jager completed five of eight passes for 39 yards with an interception, while Radek Jarding and Easton Dobesh contributed 16 and 12 rushing yards, respectively.
Mason Jervik paced Parkston with 64 rushing yards on seven carries and caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Brycen Bruening. Bruening added 53 rushing yards, including a 51-yard scoring run. Brooks Blom connected with Krey Culbert for a 57-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Hanson opened the second half with a sustained possession but came up short on fourth down. Finishing those drives and protecting the football will be priorities as the Beavers prepare to face Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan.
This Season
Hanson enters Friday’s regular-season finale against Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan with a 3–4 record. The Beavers opened with three losses decided by a combined 11 points before winning three straight against Gregory, Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian and Baltic. They have averaged 28.4 points per game while allowing 24.7.
The running game has driven Hanson’s offense, producing 1,952 yards and 24 touchdowns. The Beavers average 278.9 rushing yards and 314.1 total yards per game, with nearly 89 percent of their offensive yardage coming on the ground.
Jason Porth leads the way with 1,339 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 137 carries, averaging 9.8 yards per attempt. He has topped 200 yards in four games and added four receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. Pierce Kayser has contributed 208 rushing yards and three scores, while Radek Jarding has added 156 yards. Quarterback Jett Jager has rushed for four touchdowns and passed for 237 yards and a score.
Hanson allowed just 20 combined points during its three-game winning streak, including a 40–0 shutout of TDAACDC, before falling 50–0 to unbeaten Parkston last week. The Beavers will look to reestablish their ground game and finish drives against the Seahawks. After three narrow losses to begin the season, closing out a competitive game would give Hanson a .500 finish and momentum heading into the postseason.

-
Closest finish: Emery/Ethan’s 8–0 win in 2007 and Hanson’s 20–12 victory in 2010 share the smallest margin. Josh Endres rushed for 100 yards and the only touchdown in the 2007 win, securing an unbeaten regular season.
-
Defensive dominance: Seven of the 17 meetings ended in shutouts, five by the Seahawks. EE held Hanson to just 52 total yards and two first downs in its 28–0 victory in 1999.
-
Last meeting: Jordan Grosdidier rushed for 242 yards and five touchdowns in BEE’s 39–12 win in 2014. The Seahawks finished with 362 rushing yards, while Hanson’s Aaron Wenande ran for 104 yards and two scores.

-
Playoff picture: Our updated prediction model gives BEE roughly a 64% chance of reaching the Class 9AA playoffs heading into the regular-season finale against Hanson. A win put the Seahawks in the field in every simulation, while a loss left their chances at about 48%. Waubay/Summit is the most likely first-round road opponent with a win, followed by Britton-Hecla and Platte-Geddes. With a loss, BEE would need other results to fall its way to secure a playoff berth, with a first-round trip to Parkston projected if the Seahawks qualify.
-
Hanson’s playoff picture: The Beavers enter tonight at 3–4. Our current projections place Hanson at the No. 11 seed with a win, setting up a first-round trip to Garretson, or the No. 13 seed with a loss, sending them to Britton-Hecla. Other final-week results could shift those seeds and matchups.
-
The forecast at kickoff tonight in Bridgewater calls for mostly clear skies with a temperature of 44 degrees with light northwest winds.
